Team HYPER (69) have registered for their 2020 local competition (students will take buses back and forth each day). They will be attending the SE Mass District Event at Bridgewater-Raynham High School in Bridgewater, MA. Check-in for the event is Friday, March 6 with competition dates on Saturday and Sunday, March 7 & 8. Many more details will come in future months.

Team HYPER will host an FTC scrimmage on Sunday, December 15th from noon until 4PM. Setup will begin at 11AM and we will stay until we are cleaned up afterwards (5 at the latest). HYPER’s new FTC Teams fulLTilt and Mountain Doers will be participating in the scrimmage and HYPER veterans will help run the show.

Safety Training will be this Thursday, 10/3, from 3 until 6 pm. The training itself will begin at 3:30 and conclude around 5pm. If you are unable to be there for that time span, then you should NOT attend. Instead, please wait for a future safety training.

Future Meetings will be meeting on Wednesdays (no longer Thursdays) from 3 to 6pm. Eventually, we will add a second meeting day each week as the FTC season intensifies.

Here is this year’s HYPER Handbook.  As a member of our team, you are responsible for reading it and understanding its contents.  If you have any questions about its contents, be sure to ask a mentor.

Due to ongoing issues within QPS schools and the church, we are moving our location for Tuesday and Wednesday’s meetings. The new location is now the Quincy High School cafeteria. So:

• Tuesday, 3:30 to 5:30 at Quincy High
• Wednesday, 5 to 8 at Quincy High

If you come in the front door (Coddington Street side) of QHS the cafeteria is immediately to your left as you enter. If you come in the back door, continue straight and a little left past the gym and you will get there.

Be sure you have read the rules and are ready to brainstorm both strategy and design as that will be the focal point of the meetings.
